Dianne Feinstein to go

The folks over at Emerson College Polling did a poll showing there are 63% of vote card carrying Californians saying it’s time for Senator Dianne Feinstein to leave the Senate.

From Jun 4 2023, to June 7, 2023, the Emerson College Polling folks talked to 1,056 vote card carrying Californians via cell phones, emails, or an online group. The margin of error is +/- 2.9 percentage points.

Out of those folks who the Emerson College Polling folks managed to get a hold of, there were 68% of Florida retirement age folks saying that Senator Feinstein should rest her weary bones at home and leave work alone…or, to the young folks.

Speaking of the young folks, there were 58% of them saying that it’s time for Senator Feinstein to spend the rest of her days at home being Grandma Feinstein.

The reason so many folks believe it’s time for Senator Feinstein to just kick up her feet and relax all day is due to the fact that the senator is a 90-year-old woman whose health is that of a 90-year-old woman.

At that age, everything is down. The bones crack like crackling pop, something is always leaking out, and they can’t get up and go because their energy is too low. Whenever a person gets sick, he or she gets sick with everything.

Case in point, the shingles and its two sidekicks, encephalitis and Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, got a hold of Senator Feinstein and put her out of commission for three months.

Shingles comes from the chickenpox. Folks who’ve had the chickenpox virus get a deposit and that deposit is called shingles. The shingles virus tends to withdraw itself out of that vault, later on, when a person is older and/or weaker.

Shingles shows up as a rash that eventually gets nasty looking blisters in it. Whenever that nasty looking blistery filled red rash appears on someone’s face, near his or her ear, it means that Ramsay Hunt Syndrome is there. A person’s head gets hot and the brain starts swelling. The swelling of the brain means that encephalitis has made it onto the scene.

Due to all of the “excitement” going on inside her 90-year-old body, Senator Feinstein couldn’t do anything but lay low for a while. She would’ve stayed out longer but the number of lil’ birdies tweet, tweet, tweeting about her condition grew louder. So in May, her team wheeled her back into the senate.

The Democrats took one look at her and thought to themselves, “We’ve been ‘Ruth Badered’ again.” Here, like the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader (I’ma Stay) Ginsburg, Senator Dianne Feinstein knew she wasn’t in the best of health. She knew before the 2018 Mid-Terms that her health wasn’t the best. Instead of handing the baton to someone else, she decided she’d finish the race. Now, the Democrats are stuck with her.

Senator Feinstein, of course, disagrees with all of the fuss that’s being made about her health. There are other elderly senators, like Senate Minority Leader Mitch (Ol’ Mitch) McConnell, who’ve had lengthy absences from the senate due to some common ol’ folks’ hazards, like trips and falls, and were able to make it back to work in one piece without anyone encouraging them to take the retirement package.

And then there’re the late Senators Robert Byrd (D-WV) and James Strom Thurmond (R-SC) who both died in office. Byrd was 93 and Thurmond was 101 when he died.

All Senator Feinstein wants is the same courtesy. She will like to die in office, while in her 90s or 100s, too. It’s just that the Democrats have been down this road before with former Supreme Court Justice Ruth (I’m Not Going) Bader Ginsberg. While the Democrats were busy giving former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg the same courtesy that Senator Dianne Feinstein wants, Justice Ginsberg was busy dying. And lo and behold, the Democrats look up and she’s dead.

The Republicans and Russians successfully got Donald (Street Corner Donald John) Trump into the White House which led to Brett (Waterhead Baby) Kavanaugh, Neil (Know It All) Gorsuch, and Amy (Dingbat) Coney Barrett on the bench. The Democrats don’t want that happening again, no sir, because they know that’ll lead to the same catastrophic events.

Ol’ Mitch, there, is hoping it happens again because he knows that the Republicans’ refusal to vote for Senator Feinstein’s replacement, if she retires, is putting the Republicans back in the same winning position they were in when the Republicans refused to vote on a replacement for former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader (I’ma Stay) Ginsburg after she died.
